- How the information wave goes up the time.
For a good understanding of the ontostat, we need to show that one of the two waves that constitute it, the information wave, goes up the time. It is an astonishing question we are not accustomed to pose to us in the conventional framework of Science. Thus we are not prepared to receive answers which will not be immediately obvious; I am satisfied for the moment to gather some beginnings of tracks to be followed :
-1- First, we will show how to recognize that wave, which works in dilation / compression, like activity wave.
-2- Then, in order to speak about direction of time, we need a point of reference. I propose, on the elementary particle model, a set regulated as the ontostat can be.
Afterwards, three ways for estimating the direction of time for these waves :
-3- the habit we have to differentiate them, without realizing, when we plot diagrams,
-4- by the definition of causality,
-5- lastly, by referring to the second principle of thermodynamics.
1 - The information wave.
We have defined the activity wave that alternates contracted zones or periods for actions and dilated zones or periods of sales.
The information wave, now, alternates also between,
contracted zones or periods : compressions of sales results -14 on the ontostat scheme-. The sales done on 10 and taken in by places of sales, are totalized; that is to say a sale, once effective, is deprived of all its qualities and reduced to a unitary numerical value, one sale, and added to others. For me that is a compression phenomenon. The result is then placed on a time-ordered scale according to a calendar order (graph 2) that allows following its evolution. The marketing department builds, on disorder and agitation of spots of sales, this time-ordered axis on which sale results are projected. Space and time are structured by an a-causal way, by zones for space and by calendar order for time, for the purpose of bringing into light a causality which would act here and not there, at this time and not at that other.
And dilated zones : analysis of results -18 on the ontostat scheme-. The sale department proceeds to a more and more accurate factorial analysis of sales, by product, by quality, and compares with competitors, and so on. That I explain as dilation with re-introduction of qualitative aspects in order to allow the manager to take his decisions. - Analysis is classed as a dilation by separation and setting aside of studied elements and is opposed to synthesis which is a contraction by bringing together and lessening of the number of those elements.
We find again here the succession of a contraction and a dilation which appear to us as two successive phases of an undulatory phenomenon. It is a very wave the transformations of which are used by marketing department in order to give rise to information, from which its name : information wave.
2 - The particle as a temporal point of reference.
We have seen in the chapter on physics that, in the primitive ideal medium, action and information waves travel likewise in the two directions of time and that their complementarity is at the origin of particles; it is the Wave Structure of Matter (WSM) which gave us some theoretical satisfactions. In this original medium, the particle does not have other temporal reference mark than these waves, and for it a wave goes in a direction of time and the other in the other direction. Time is measured only by reference of a wave compared to another and every particle becomes a reference centre for its proper time. Thus it is justified to say, referring to a particle, a wave goes down the time from the present to the future and the other goes up from the future to the present.
That is true for elementary particles, but also for ontostats which are regulated by the superposition of two waves, as we saw, and which are developed forms of these particles as we demonstrate on the whole of this work.
3 - Materialization of the two directions of time.
It is significant to observe that, in a general way, the successive operations of making or the unfolding of organized phenomenon are displayed on graphs with the time on the x-axis, the present at the left end of the axis. The making develops towards the right where is the future (graph 1). Although information concerning the sales of firms (more generally the economical results) are displayed on other types of graphs (graph 2), with always time on x-axis, but the present - the origin – is at the right, and all the graph, built towards the left, contains the past. Financial and economics papers are full of those graphs. I already presented this opposition when treating of the elements of order.
The graphs of the first type, which represent dynamic laws, are tools for executions of plans, the other graphs concern statistical laws and supply useful information for decisions. This difference between dynamic and statistical laws has fully interested Planck. For us it is an essential material of ontostat. We will see that in its working, particularly in compression zones, the ontostat integrates and opposes these two processes which refers each one to a wave following a different direction of time : dynamic laws relate to action wave and follow the current flow of time (succession of actions towards the future), and statistical laws have reference to information wave and seem to go up time (inflating of information towards the past).
4 - The reversing of the causality relation.
In order to define the direction of the time flow, we usually use the causality relation : the effect follows the cause. This is always true for matter as we study it in Physics; it is also the direction of the flow of energy, of the general tendency towards disorder, of the growing entropy. But is it always the case ?
If we adopt this definition, we must admit that sometimes the effect precedes the cause.
When a cook prepares a cake or a manager decides to increase the production rate, it is in prospect of a future event, not yet realised, which is quite the cause : the coming of dear beings or an increase of sales. Could that say that time can flow in opposite direction ? Due to the fact that human intelligence is active in these examples, it seems easier and more evident to say, as we have always do : "The man is capable of foreseeing the future and of acting consequently", rather than "Information comes from the future towards man, which is social and economical actor, in order to light his action".
However in the framework of the ontostat, that which goes up towards us from the future, is not the knowledge we can have of a precise event having to be carried out, but a worked information. Effectively, as we have seen upper with the example of a firm, the wave exists only because it is created and maintained by man which alternates dilatation and compression actions according to the rules of treatment of information : statistical treatment of data in compression, then factorial analysis and interpretation of results in dilation. That reveals the state of the market at the moment of the sales. After, with the use of graphs like Graph 2 it is possible to know the state of the market at the moment of the making. It is in this sense that I say that information wave goes up the time, it brings the knowledge of the former state of the market, mainly the motivations of the purchasers : it reveals the initial causes by analysing the effects. Then, by extrapolation the manager can evaluate the evolution of the market in the future and take adapted decisions.
Information, which is carried by information wave, is used by manager, fixed temporal point at the heart of his firm, in order to foresee and to organize the next production. He finds out an effect (a sale variation) by statistical methods and deduces from it the cause which could produce this effect and which took place before. Then, acting in the framework of the action wave, he sets to work a new cause and achieves after a new effect (a fitted fabrication). Then he readjusts the new cause.
On the whole, the go back in the time by information wave is local, relative to action wave and in the framework of systems regulated in this way.
5 - The time of Thermodynamics.
Thermodynamics give us a direction of the time, which is that of general degradation. We can say on the contrary that each time we make a series of actions in order to produce something, we go against the stream of this degradation. We go back this direction of the time.
